Mathematical Transfer of Learning
Transfer of learning occurs when a student is motivated to learn a subject, has prior background on the subject, and knows how to link new knowledge to existing understanding. Dr. Taylor studies the effects of a student's career choice on his/her/their ability to transfer mathematical knowledge to other disciplines.

Classroom Tools & Technologies and the Impacts on Mathematics Student Learning
Classroom tools an technologies evolve everyday. From the overhead projector to the smart board, this evolution greatly affects the manner in which students learn. Dr. Taylor studies instructor-chosen classroom tools and technology effects on mathematics students learning and the early indicators of these effects. Her results can be used to find a suitable teaching mix for certain courses.
